Happy New Year! Goodbye to the ups and downs and poor behaviors from the year that has passed! This is a chance to change how self-care and self-love are provided in the next 12 months. As resolutions are developed and discussed try to implement developing self-worth and self-value as a step in reaching the resolution goals. There is no denying that poor behavior from others help to increase burnout symptoms.
It can be beneficial if there is a moment of reflection from within oneself of how poor behaviors by others in a personal or professional environment may trigger the increase of burnout symptoms. Maybe there is a lack of confidence, a fear to express emotions and feelings, not balancing caring for others with self-care, not knowing self-worth, or presenting pessimistic not optimistic thoughts. Now is the time to use your voice to advocate for change and access available resources to increase the awareness of burnout in personal and professional relationships or pursuits. For the past years since the year 2020 of the COVID-19 shut down there has been evidence that we are able to rely on our strengths to survive the unexpected. Some have gained clarity of what is beneficial and who is supportive in his/her life.
Let’s not go backwards the year 2020, 2021, and even 2022 has been full of unpredictable concerns and struggles yet we are learning that mental health is a true medical concern that one should focus on as much as physical health. Consider making this new year the one of equal concern of physical health and mental health!
