Inspiring moments connecting and engaging at the 2024 NAMI Conference and the Whole Health and Wellness Advocacy Day march in Harrisburg, PA

2024 NAMI Conference at Harrisburg, PA in May 2024

The joy of spending two days in the capitol of Pennsylvania, spreading the word about reducing burnout, has given this non-profit creator reassurance and encouragement! I had the pleasure of engaging in conversations with a variety of amazing resilient mental health professionals and families supporting individuals with mental health challenges. I had a great opportunity to participate in the Learning Life Skills Together podcast, LifeSkillPA.org, at the NAMI Conference. In conversations, there seems to be a common theme of increasing face-to-face engagement and acknowledgment with resources and a “safe space” for all developing burnout in personal and professional endeavors.

There have been a few individuals who feel this non-profit is just a “support” group that will guide individuals with coping mechanisms to reduce burnout. I understand and empathize with this perspective. My past experiences of burnout development reduced my self-esteem and hope for understanding. I searched for physical resources to help reduce the stigma and isolation provided by society and the poor behavior of others.

The 2024 Whole Health and Wellness Advocacy Day march in Harrisburg, PA

I feel physical support groups are amazing and helpful! I personally seeked more action-based connections. I searched for opportunities to physically correspond with legal and mediation resources. I also wanted to engage with others who were experiencing what I was experiencing emotionally and mentally.

I am anxious and excited about the non-profit providing service to spread the word and engage in a reduction of burnout! Full transperency, there is a need for donations and funding. Until that can be achieved, there will be future table setups and virtual events. The financial revenue will help with collaboration and creation of face-to-face conversations and events for physical connection to support reduction of burnout. Also, financial resources helps pay for engagement with possible resources like human resource management (SHRM), legal resources, the Department of Labor, the Department of Behavioral Health, Department of Education, counselors, mediators, etc to help reduce burnout.

Please join upcoming table setups and virtual events!
